August 1999 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THAT Corporation Celebrates
10 Years of Audio Excellence
Milford, Massachusetts,
USA -- With lots of fans but little fanfare,
THAT Corporation celebrates its tenth year as an
influential contributor to the pro audio scene. Founded
in 1989 by Gary Hebert, Paul Travaline, and Les Tyler --
all senior engineers and managers at dbx during its
formative years -- the company has stayed true to its
original charter: designing and manufacturing the highest
quality ICs, subassemblies, and rackmount products for
pro audio engineers and practitioners.
Commenting on the 10 year milestone,
company president Les Tyler said, "We started THAT Corporation by
buying out the OEM division of dbx, and the core products from that
acquisition -- our voltage-controlled amplifiers and rms
level-detectors, for example -- continue to be an important part of our
product mix. We’ve also had a great deal of success designing and
manufacturing circuit board and 19" rackmount products on an OEM
basis. In fact, we recently moved to a facility that gives us over
14,000 square feet of manufacturing space to accommodate the growth in
both our IC and OEM product lines.
"Our focus now is on the next 5
years or so," Tyler continued. "We are committed to broadening
and strengthening our IC business, and to that end we have spent the
last couple of years conducting market research and engineering new IC
families. We are poised for several new releases over the next year,
beginning with our InGenius™ balanced input stage, a unique circuit
that provides high common-mode interference rejection in real products
and under real operating conditions."
Tyler concluded, "We
have our customers to thank for our success so far, and
while we will continue to provide innovative,
cost-effective products during this next decade, our
continued growth and profitability will ultimately rest
on how well we respond to our customers and their
particular requirements. Customer focus is at the core of
our business planning as we move into our second
decade."
